Ghost Stories, the spooky production that has been breaking box office records at the Lyric Hammersmith, has added an extra two weeks to its scheduled run.
The show, which comes with a warning that it is unsuitable for people of a nervous disposition, opened at the West London venue at the beginning of March and was due to close on 3 April. It will now run until 17 April with a special shiver-inducing midnight performance on 26 March.
Created by former League Of Gentlemen writer Jeremy Dyson and actor and Derren Brown collaborator Andy Nyman, Ghost Stories brings scares back to the stage with its clever mix of terrifying tales, unflinching tension, scattered humour and moments which make audiences leap out of their skin.
Speaking about the decision to increase the show’s run, Lyric Hammersmith Artistic Director Sean Holmes commented: “I’m delighted that Ghost Stories is extending – Dyson and Nyman’s magic touch has filled the Lyric to bursting point.”
The decision to extend Ghost Stories does mean that the previously programmed The Dark Side Of Buffoon, which was due to play the Lyric Hammersmith’s main stage between 7 and 17 April, will now play in the Lyric Studio from 13 to 17 April. Ticket holders for The Dark Side Of Buffoon will be contacted by the theatre.
