Further casting has been announced for the world premiere of Sarah Wooley’s Old Money at the Hampstead theatre this winter.

Nadia Clifford, Geoffrey Freshwater, Eve Pearce and Timothy Watson will join the previously announced Maureen Lipman and Tracy-Ann Oberman in Terry Johnson’s production, which plays from 29 November to 12 January.

Freshwater, whose theatre credits include productions of As You Like It, Anthony And Cleopatra and King Lear for the RSC, last appeared on the London stage alongside Olivier Award-winning actress Samantha Spiro in Filumena at the Almeida theatre, while Watson’s stage credits include An Inspector Calls at the Novello theatre and West End long-runner The Woman In Black.

Best known for her on screen credits in television series including Torchwood, Rome and The Bill, Pearce has previously appeared on stage in The Storm at the Almeida, while recent Bristol Old Vic Theatre School graduate Clifford has appeared in productions including the Old Vic New Voices’ One Hour Only.

An astute comedy of personal discovery, Old Times tells the story of widow Joyce, who though married to her husband for 40 years, embraces her freedom when a chance meeting with a stripper opens her eyes to a whole world of possibilities.

Old Times will open at the Hampstead theatre following Howard Brenton’s dramatic tale about one of the most tumultuous periods of English history 55 Days, which plays until 24 November.
