Exclusive: Charlie’s new posters

If you are travelling on a packed underground escalator or making your way down a busy West End street over the next few weeks,  you might notice something bright and glistening catches the corner of your eye. Sadly, it’s not likely to be one of Willy Wonka’s Golden Tickets – stranger things have happened – but these incredible new character portraits from Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. And if you fall in love with them like we have, they may well just tempt you into buying your own ticket to visit the magical world of Wonka’s confectionary haven.

From the vivid violet of Wonka’s iconic costume to Veruca Salt’s suitably Princess pink haze, these six new portraits offer just a taste of the technicolour world of adventure that awaits audiences at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane for Sam Mendes’ Olivier Award-winning take on Roald Dahl’s classic story.

Since opening in the summer of 2013, the show has been seen by an incredible 1.25 million people who have all witnessed the story of Charlie Bucket and his quest to win one of those famous Golden Tickets to visit the factory of a chocoholic dreams.

Two acclaimed stage actors have now taken on the role of the wonderfully eccentric Wonka, and theatregoers have until May to catch current star Alex Jennings (who followed Douglas Hodge) before he makes way for RSC regular Jonathan Slinger.
