Over The Rainbow winner Danielle Hope and Miss Saigon’s Eva Noblezada will both appear as Les Misérables’ legendary Eponine this year in a major shakeup of the West End cast beginning in February.
The Wizard Of Oz star Hope will return to the role of Eponine following her 2012 debut in the musical, replacing long-time Les Mis cast member Carrie Hope Fletcher from 15 February, before Noblezada replaces her from 4 April following her triumphant West End debut as Miss Saigon’s iconic Kim.
The rising US star will be reunited with her former Miss Saigon co-star Rachelle Ann Go from 9 May when, following a short break from 30 January, the actor returns to the show to continue her current role of Fantine. The role will be covered in the interim by Patrice Tipoki, who is currently starring in the Australian tour.
Also joining the cast from 13 February is cast returnee and recent star of the acclaimed pie shop-set Sweeney Todd Craig Mather, who replaces Rob Houchen as brave revolutionary and romantic leading man Marius.
The newcomers will join a leading cast that includes Peter Lockyer, Jeremy Secomb, Phil Daniels, Katy Secombe, Zoë Doano and Bradley Jaden, all of whom continue in their roles as Cameron Mackintosh’s world famous production continues in its 30th anniversary year at the Queen’s Theatre.
Following its three decade West End rule, the musical adaptation of Victor Hugo’s novel about one man’s determined survival in the face of another’s vengeful persecution barely needs introduction. Featuring an iconic score including songs I Dreamed A Dream and On My Own, the colossally successful hit holds the lofty title of being the world’s longest running musical and has been seen by more than 70 million people worldwide.
