Claire Forlani debuts in Colby Sisters

Published 28 March 2014

Claire Forlani, Ronke Adekoluejo, Isabella Calthorpe, Charlotte Parry, Patricia Potter and Alice Sanders will star in the Tricycle Theatre’s forthcoming world premiere of Adam Bock’s black comedy The Colby Sisters Of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

US theatre maker Trip Cullman directs Bock’s story about five sisters who are the toast of New York high society. Behind the veil of champagne and canapés, however, their lives are falling apart.

Playing from 19 June to 26 July, The Colby Sisters Of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania brings together a mix of cross-Atlantic actors, well-known faces from television and veteran stage performers.

Earning places in the latter’s camp, Calthorpe will make her Tricycle Theatre debut in the drama following West End credits in Chariots Of Fire and Dirty Dancing.

Her co-star Parry has worked extensively both on London and Broadway stages, boasting appearances in numerous productions that played both sides of the Atlantic, including The Bridge Project’s The Cherry Orchard and The Winter’s Tale, Peter Hall’s As You Like It and David Leveaux’s The Real Thing.

While Potter has dabbled with the stage, having appeared in An Eligible Man at the New End Theatre, she is most well known for her long-running roles in Holby City and Brookside. Her other many television credits include New Tricks, Man Down and Extras.

Forlani, who is British but a more familiar face from roles in Hollywood films including Meet Joe Black and Mallrats, will make her London stage debut in the production.

Concluding the cast are fellow newcomer and recent RADA graduate Adekoluejo, and young actress Sanders, who returns to the stage following the Donmar Warehouse’s Inadmissible Evidence.

The Colby Sisters Of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania plays as part of a busy summer season at the Kilburn venue, following Frantic Assembly’s The Believers (22 April to 24 May) and Rachel De-lahay’s new play Circles (27 May to 14 June).
