Cast announced for The Tiger Who Came To Tea

This summer is set to be grrrrreat because everyone’s favourite, gluttonous tiger is coming to town for a bite and a tipple. Today, the summer cast for the Olivier Award-nominated family show, The Tiger Who Came To Tea at the Piccadilly Theatre, has been announced.

During the 2018 summer run, Abbey Norman will play Sophie, Stephanie Summer will play Mummy, Thomas O’Connell will play Daddy/Milkman/Postman/Tiger, with Sarah Horton (Understudy/ASM) and Glen Newham (Understudy/ASM).

Abbey played Sophie in the original production of The Tiger Who Came to Tea and has enjoyed touring all over the world with the production including a season at Sydney Opera House and several in the West End. Her other family theatre credits include Little Nutbrown Hare in Guess How Much I Love You, and Mouse in The Gruffalo & The Gruffalo’s Child both in the West End and touring.

Stephanie trained with M.A.D.D and The Actors Class London. She joined the company of The Tiger Who Came to Tea after graduating and has since toured the show to Australia, China, Singapore, UAE, UK, and Ireland.

Thomas has performed in The Tiger Who Came To Tea on and off for a number of years. His other theatre credits include Rockpool (Inspector Sands), Bow Down (The Opera Group) and The Littlest Quirky (Theatre Centre).

The Tiger Who Came To Tea is celebrating its 10th anniversary on stage and 50 years as Britain’s best-loved picture book. This truly magical Olivier Award-nominated production returns to London for its 5th West End run, opening at the Piccadilly Theatre on Thursday 28 June, playing until Sunday 9 September 2018.

Adapted and directed by David Wood OBE and based on the classic tale by Judith Kerr OBE, The Tiger Who Came to Tea is the ideal introduction to theatre for children aged 3+ and the perfect summer treat for the whole family.

When Sophie and her Mummy welcome the hungry Tiger to tea, he proceeds to eat all the sandwiches, buns, biscuits and more. He even manages to drink all the water in the tap! What will Sophie’s Daddy say when he gets home?
