Camille O'Sullivan to join La Soirée

Camille O’Sullivan joins La Soirée

Published 3 December 2015

Award-winning cabaret star Camille O’Sullivan will join La Soirée’s eccentric troupe of performers in the Olivier Award-winning production from 21 December.

The sultry Irish songstress is no stranger to the fantastically strange show, having been part of the original motely crew of eclectic entertainers who captivated audiences at the Edinburgh Festival in its first inception more than 10 years ago. Since then O’Sullivan’s career has launched her to cabaret stardom, performing both as a solo artist and with the show around the world.

The recent Helpmann Award winner will return to London to join La Soirée’s “dysfunctional family” of performers who wow, shock and titillate audiences nightly with their wide ranging skill sets, from contortion to clowning, to bring her unique dramatic interpretations of songs to the capital following her acclaimed 2009 solo West End show.

Once again she will tease every inch of drama from songs by artists including Nick Cave, David Bowie and Radiohead on La Soirée’s “little red stage”. She joins a familiar cast of long-standing La Soirée performers including Mario Queen of the Circus, Bret Pfister, Captain Frodo and The English Gents.

2015’s festive run, which marks the sixth year running the show has pitched up its iconic 1920s Spielgeltent on London’s South Bank and its triumphant return following April’s Olivier Award win, also includes newcomers to the La Soirée global family including aerialist Yammel Rodriguez, motorcycle queen Melanie Chy and Denis Lock’s bubbletastic routine.

Audiences can catch La Soirée until 17 January.
