Julie Atherton and Paul Spicer return to the West End for Notes In Heels, a one-off show featuring the music of three female American composers, to be held at the Duchess theatre on Sunday 6 April.
In Notes In Heels, Atherton and Spicer are joined by young West End stars Selina Chilton, Stuart Matthew Price and Amy Pemberton to showcase the work of musical theatre composers Georgia Stitt, Jenny Giering and Zina Goldrich.
The show is the latest offering in the Notes From New York series, which aims to present the work of contemporary American musical theatre composers to West End audiences. The company was last in the West End during the festive season with its show Christmas In New York at the Lyric.
Stitt is a conductor, arranger, pianist and vocal coach in the US who has also written several musicals including The Water and Big Red Sun. Giering’s work includes The Mistress Cycle, Crossing Brooklyn, which premiered in New York last year, and the forthcoming Saint-Ex. Goldrich, along with lyricist Marcy Heisler, has written the shows Dear Edwina, Adventures In Love and Allison Under, plus the popular musical Junie B Jones, which opens off-Broadway later this year.
Notes From New York regulars Atherton (Avenue Q) and Spicer (The Witches Of Eastwick) have once again lined up some of London’s bright young talents to perform alongside them. Chilton most recently appeared in Marianne Dreams at the Almeida and before that played the role of Kitty in the Broadway import The Drowsy Chaperone at the Novello. Price made his professional debut in the musical Parade at the Donmar Warehouse last year. Pemberton has been seen in the West End playing the lead role of Ariel in Footloose and is soon to appear in the forthcoming Four Seasons musical Jersey Boys at the Prince Edward.
