Sugar, butter, flour, and two new cast members! There’s going to be a new Jenna and Dawn working at Joe’s Diner from 17 June.

Taking over from Katharine McPhee as Jenna will be Lucie Jones. First making a name for herself on the X Factor back in 2009, Lucie has grown into an established performer, representing the UK at Eurovision in 2017.

No stranger to the West End, Lucie has performed in many iconic productions including playing Cosette in Les Misérables (Queens Theatre), Meat in We Will Rock You (world arena tour), Victoria in American Psycho The Musical (Almeida), Elle Woods in Legally Blonde (national tour) and Maureen Johnson in Rent (The Other Palace and national tour). Some lucky audience members may have already caught Lucie’s Waitress debut, as she recently performed as Jenna for a few nights earlier this month.

Joining Lucie in the diner for a strictly limited summer season will be Ashley Roberts, who’ll be starring as fellow waitress Dawn. Making her West End debut in the show, Ashley initially hit the spotlight as a member of one of the biggest girl groups, the Pussycat Dolls, where over seven years they sold over 54 million records. She then went onto other successful projects, including reaching the finals of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and Strictly Come Dancing, landing a presenting role on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and judging on Dancing On Ice and Let It Shine.

Staying at the diner will be current cast members Marisha Wallace (Becky) Jack McBrayer (Ogie), David Hunter (Dr Pomatter) and Peter Hannah (Earl), Shaun Prendergast (Old Joe) and the rest of the company. Laura Baldwin will return to Waitress as Dawn at the end of the summer.

Waitress is the story of pie maker Jenna. Working in her small-town diner, Jenna is stuck in an unhappy marriage and dreaming of opening her own pie shop. When Jenna discovers she’s pregnant her plans turn upside down, bout could Dr Pomatter help bake her recipe to happiness? Waitress is an American musical about friendship, motherhood – and the magic of a well-made pie.

The show features famous Sara Bareilles songs including She Used To Be Mine, What Baking Can Do, Never Ever Getting Rid Of Me, Opening Up and When He Sees Me.

Booking until 19 October 2019 at the Adelphi Theatre, tickets for Waitress are available now.
