Well, we’re speechless. We knew that the costumes for new musical & Juliet were going to be good. A musical about Juliet’s strong, independent, adventure filled life after Romeo, jam-packed with pop songs galore? They surely couldn’t disappoint.

But these designs re-define cool. Did somebody say Shakespearean chic?

Let’s take a closer look at some of those:

The attention to detail in these mash ups between modern and Elizabethan costumes is absolutely incredible. The totally unique style is reflective of the strange, snappy, hilarious tale told by & Juliet.

The play picks up at the final scene of Shakespeare’s ode to love Romeo & Juliet as the lovers are close to their fateful ends. Instead of picking up the dagger, in this re-imagining, Juliet decides to live, and sets off on an adventure to Paris with her friends – including, of course, her ever-faithful, ever-funny Nurse.

The shows electricity is in part owed to the upbeat pop legends of Max Martin, who has written some of the most iconic hits over the last few decades. You can expect tunes you’ll know form Britney, Airana, Justin Timberlake, Backstreet Boys and more.

If anything, these photos have just made us even more excited for the opening of & Juliet in at Shaftesbury Theatre November this year.
