A day in the life: Carrie Hope Fletcher

First Published 8 July 2015, Last Updated 15 July 2015

Carrie Hope Fletcher has more than half a million subscribers on YouTube, she writes her own songs and her first book, All I Know, was published earlier this year. She’s even reached that heady stage of stardom when your fans have their own name (the ‘Hopefuls’).  Oh yeah, and she has been starring eight shows a week for the past three years in her “holy grail” role as Eponine in Les Misérables. How does she do it?

Firstly, at just 22, she’s got youthful energy on her side and, as her fans to whom she is part older sister, part agony aunt can attest, Official London Theatre knows from experience she’s a ball of positive vibes and irresistibly infectious excitable ambition. In short, she’s a star and a busy one at that.

Curious to find out how she fits it all into an average 24 hours, we got Fletcher to document her day. Featuring ice cream, her new Les Mis co-stars, an impressive array of skin products and some John Lennon-inspired sunglasses, it looks like fun to us…

Ten minutes in bed to scroll through Twitter before the day starts!

What with all the theatre make-up, gotta keep my skin happy!

Bit of morning recording for a book project!

Right! At the show! Ensemble wig on and READY!

Eponine is loving the sun today!

Having an ice cream between shows to cool down…

…and a half hour snooze too!

Time to get ready for the second show!

Dressing room power cut! Interval Ice cream in the dark!

Headed home on the train after a very long day!

Doing my hair before bed so that I’m ready for tomorrow!
