Theatre fans who thought they’d missed out on the chance to see Olivier Award winner Mark Rylance in the West End transfer of Farinelli And The King can take advantage of further tickets, which have been released today with seats at prices as low as £10.

Rylance reprises his role as King Philippe V of Spain in Claire Van Kampen’s drama, first seen at Shakespeare’s Globe in February, when it runs at the Duke of York’s Theatre from 14 September to 5 December.

The additional tickets will include on-stage seating, giving theatregoers an up-close and personal view of the intriguing 18th century tale about the world’s most famous castrato as it unfolds.

Tickets for a tenner will be available across the house for every performance and include the on-stage seating.

Directed by John Dove, the cast also includes Sam Crane, Iestyn Davies, Rupert Enticknap, Owen Willets, Huss Garbiya, Melody Grove, Colin Hurley and Edward Peel.

First staged at the stunning Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, Farinelli And The King seeks to bring the intimate surroundings of the Globe’s acclaimed indoor theatre to the West End for the play’s autumn run, with scenes lit by candlelight and live Baroque music played by six on-stage musicians.

The production will open at the Duke of York’s Theatre following the current production of Noël Coward’s Hay Fever, starring Felicity Kendal, and the return of Olivier Award nominated family hit Hetty Feather.
