Based on Ivan Turgenev’s passionate moving comedy A Month In The Country, Patrick Marber’s new version, Three Days In The Country, arrives at the National Theatre starring John Simm.

Set in Russia in the mid-19th century, Three Days In The Country follows a handsome new tutor as he brings reckless, romantic desire to an eccentric household.

Over three days one summer the young and the old learn lessons in love: first love and forbidden love, maternal love and platonic love, ridiculous love and last love. The love left unsaid and the love which must out.

Code Of A Killer and Prey star Simm, whose recent stage credits include Trafalgar Transformed’s The Hothouse, is joined in the cast by former EastEnders actress Amanda Drew (Curious Incident, Apollo Theatre), Gawn Grainger (The Recruiting Officer, Donmar Warehouse) and Cherrelle Skeete (The Amen Corner, NT).
