The Pajama Game, which stars Olivier Award winner Joanna Riding and musical theatre star Michael Xavier, beautifully blends romance, comedy and song as it tells its story of love found in the unlikely surroundings of the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory in 1950s America.

Handsome new Superintendent, Sid Sorokin (Xavier) falls heavily for the factory’s fiery union rep Babe Williams (Riding). When the employees are refused a seven and a half cent rise, sparks begin to fly, temperature’s rise and Sid and Babe are pitted against each other leaving audiences wondering whether love can conquer all.

This production, directed by former director of the National Theatre Richard Eyre, was previously a sell-out success when it first opened at Chichester’s Minerva theatre in April 2013. Among the reviews of that production, The Times called it “A romping, uplifting, funny, touching revival,” with The Guardian describing it as “A glorious tide of melody”.

This new production of The Pajama Game also features choreography by Stephen Mear, who previously won Olivier Awards for his work on Hello, Dolly! and Mary Poppins.
