Set in the seventeenth century, The Barber Of Seville tells the story of Rosina and Count Almaviva, a pair of young lovers who, aided by Figaro, outwit Rosina’s guardian, Doctor Bartolo.

Conducted by Paul McGrath and directed by Thomas Guthrie, The Barber of Seville features Kathleen Ferrier Award winner Kitty Whately as Rosina alongside Nicholas Sharratt as Count Almaviva.

Rossini’s The Barber Of Seville is based on a play by French writer Pierre Beaumarchais whose famous Figaro plays inspired Mozart to create The Marriage Of Figaro.
