Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are reunited on stage for a limited London run of Harold Pinter’s classic power play No Man’s Land at the Wyndham’s Theatre, following a national tour.
Hirst (Stewart) and Spooner (McKellen) are two wearying writers who meet in a Hampstead pub. Continuing their drinking long into the night at Hirst’s stately house nearby, they slowly become increasingly inebriated, with their stories increasingly unbelievable, the tone of conversation slowly shifts towards a revealing power struggle – and then two sinister young men return home.
Last seen together on stage by London audiences at the Theatre Royal Haymarket performing Waiting For Godot, the acclaimed stage and screen friends McKellen and Stewart join a production of No Man’s Land which was critically lauded at the Cort Theatre in New York, also with direction from Sean Mathias.
McKellen has also recently featured as the voice of the Official London Theatre walking tour.
With incredible multi award-winning careers on both stage and screen, their casting in an already esteemed production promises a show not to be missed.
