Mozart’s classic opera features Tamino, who is saved from a serpent by the Queen of the Night’s helpers. Thus begins an adventure to save the Queen’s daughter Pamina from Sarastro with the help of bird-catcher Papageno and some magical musical instruments.

Hytner’s staging, first seen in 1988, is considered an ENO classic and is now in its 11th revival.
