It’s Halloween, and a party is being thrown at the North London home of celebrity ghost writer Max Villiers and his wife Harriet. When Max’s plasma TV is connected from the first time, the evening is hijacked by interference from the past. There are trick-or-treaters at the door and strangers on the brand new rug.

Playwright Charlotte Jones scored a huge hit with Humble Boy, which transferred from the National Theatre to the Gielgud. More recently she wrote The Dark, which was staged at the Donmar Warehouse, and supplied the book for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Woman In White.
