The Old Vic’s new Artistic Director Matthew Warchus directs Rob Brydon in this bracingly topical and boisterously funny new play.

Written by acclaimed playwright Tamsin Oglesby, Future Conditional tackles the conundrum of British schooling through a myriad of characters including parents, teachers and Alia, a prodigiously clever young Afghan refugee and the newest member of Britain’s Education Research Board.

Alia has a radical solution for Britain’s schools that could restore our place in the world education league. But is the system ready to take lessons from a schoolgirl?

Gavin And Stacey star Brydon returns to the London stage for the first time since his performance in 2012’s A Chorus Of Disapproval. Best known for his screen appearances, which also include Would I Lie To You?, Marion And Geoff, The Keith Barret Show, Brydon will also star in the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company’s five-show West End, appearing opposite Branagh in The Painkiller in 2016.
