Piero Faggioni’s staging of Puccini’s La Fanciulla Del West, one of the Royal Opera’s most celebrated productions, returns to Covent Garden after over a decade away. Along with original director Faggioni, comes original set designer Kenneth Adam to bring the vision of the Californian goldrush to the stage.

As every classic Western should, La Fanciulla Del West includes a sheriff hell-bent on revenge (played by Mark Delavan in his Royal Opera debut), a wounded outlaw (played by José Cura) and a posse armed to the teeth and baying for blood. Antonio Pappano conducts.

Sung in Italian with English surtitles.
