South African Brett Bailey creates a haunting ‘human zoo’ that challenges ideas about colonial atrocities, racial supremacy and immigration.

Exhibit B replicates ethnographic displays that showed Africans as scientific curiosities in the 19th and early 20th centuries. As audiences walk past twelve tableaux , they are met by the human eyes of performers looking back while lamentations are sung live by a Namibian choir.

Exhibit B contains nudity and images of violence, so is suitable for theatergoers aged 14 and older. As it is a promenade performance the Box Office should be able to advise about any access concerns.
