As part of the Cultural Olympiad’s London 2012 Festival the Hampstead theatre presents a major retrospective of one of Ireland’s most respected dramatists Tom Murphy.

The season comprises a trilogy of plays that tell an epic tale of Irish emigration from 1846 to 1980. Crossing oceans and spanning decades this sweeping trilogy, with a company of 17 actors, promises to be one of the most important productions of Murphy’s work to date.

Set in 1846 as the Potato Famine begins to sweep through County Mayo, Famine takes a fresh and insightful look at one of Ireland’s most defining catastrophes.

Famine is performed in rep alongside A Whistle In The Dark and Conversations On A Homecoming. Special ‘cycle’ tickets for all three performances are available.
