Design For Living is Noël Coward’s provocative and unconventional romantic comedy following three egotistical and self-absorbed characters – Gilda, Otto and Lea – who challenge the moral boundaries of relationships.

Written in 1932, Design For Living was originally staged on Broadway in 1933, receiving its first London production in 1939. Its last production in the capital came in 1994, when Sean Mathias directed a Donmar Warehouse production starring Rachel Weisz, Paul Rhys and Clive Owen.

The Old Vic production of Design For Living stars Lisa Dillon, Tom Burke and Andrew Scott.

A regular on the London stage in recent years, Dillon’s credits include When The Rain Stops Falling, Under The Blue Sky, The Hour We Knew Nothing Of Each Other and Coward’s Present Laughter.

Burke’s last London outing came in Creditors at the Donmar Warehouse, which transferred to New York, while Scott is a regular at the Royal Court, where he has appeared in A Girl In A Car With A Man, Dying City and, most recently, Cock.

Design For Living is directed by Anthony Page.
