In a co-production with Dublin’s Abbey Theatre, Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone directs the story of Belfast Loyalist Eric Miller, a man obsessed with fighting long-forgotten battles, at the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Upstairs.

Written by David Ireland, Cyprus Avenue revolves around Miller, a man who believes his five week-old granddaughter is Gerry Adams as he continues to struggle with the past, unable to comprehend a future without the discriminatory battles of old.

While his family keep telling him to move on and stop dwelling in the past, Miller steels himself to take action in the belief that his cultural heritage is under siege.

Cyprus Avenue is an Abbey Theatre commission which will open in Dublin prior to its run in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs.
