Wrestling was axed from ITV in 1988 as the channel fought against ‘dumbing down’. But ambitious TV producer Duncan thinks the time is right to bring it back to the masses, and in Victor, formerly known in wrestling circles as The Count Of Monte Cristo, he has an allie. Victor, though, is far past his prime and has his own motives for reclaiming his glory days.

Martin Freeman, known to many for his performances in The Office, The Robinsons, Hardware, Love Actually and The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy, leads the cast, which also includes Serena Evans and John Stahl.

Blue Eyes And Heels reunites the team behind playwright Toby Whithouse’s 1998 Verity Bargate Award-winning play Jump Mr Maniloff, Jump, in which Freeman also starred. Director Jonathan Lloyd, whose credits include Badnuff, Modern Dance For Beginners and Julie Burchill Is Away, once again takes the directorial reins, while the designer is again Jonathan Fensom.
