Katie Mitchell directs this new stage adaptation of the classic French fairytale about a Beast who lives in a castle and the beautiful woman whose heart he wants to win.

Using puppetry, music and magic, Mitchell brings this story to the stage with new text by young playwright Lucy Kirkwood.

Beauty And The Beast is the second family production staged at the National Theatre by Mitchell, who last year directed an adaptation of the Dr Seuss book Cat In The Hat.

Mitchell’s other work for the NT includes Waves, The Seagull, Women Of Troy, Three Sisters and Attempts On Her Life.

Beauty And The Beast is suitable for anyone aged eight and over.
