Rocketing from a condemned bar in post-Katrina New Orleans to the deep south of Margaret Mitchell’s Gone With The Wind, Architecting tells the story of Americans trying to survive as the world changes under their feet.

Creating a requiem for modern America, this exhilarating saga weaves through the country’s past and future, providing an insightful analysis of the American psyche.

Through the eyes of young architect Carrie Campbell, Architecting – a musical, multi-media time-bending epic, full of witty and surreal images – looks at mourning and healing during moments of apocalypse, disaster and change.

A co-production between The TEAM and the National Theatre of Scotland (NTS), Architecting won a Fringe First Award for its UK premiere at last year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It is the third NTS production to play at the Barbican following Black Watch (bite08) and Peer Gynt (bite09).

Architecting contains strong language and some nudity, and is suitable for theatregoers aged 13 and older.
