Four young lovers have their fates tinkered with by mystical presences in the woods in this special nationwide touring of A Midsummer Night’s Dream: A Play For The Nation.

It is a Midsummer’s night, and within an enchanted forest lurk mischievous sprites, omnipotent fairies, plays within plays and four hapless lovers.

Trapped between the desires of a warring Fairy King and Queen, their fates are transformed by magic, as the wood plays hosts to Quince and his friends presenting their production, chief mischief-maker Puck and games of fantasy, love and dreams in Shakespeare’s most beguiling comedy.

Part of a nationwide tour, this production combines eighteen RSC professional actors and fourteen amateur theatre companies from around the UK, selected to play Bottom and the Mechanicals.

In London, members of Tower Theatre Company perform these popular roles.

Part of Shakespeare 400, this production is suitable for all ages.
