The Lyric Hammersmith follows up last year’s rain-themed Hanky Party with another free extravaganza of theatre, music, games and interactive entertainment in and around the venue.

This year’s event celebrates the Lyric’s new eco-roof garden with a horticulturally-themed line up of events including workshops, games, performances, puzzles and improvisation from theatre company Cartoon de Salvo.

Events include:

Gardeners’ Shed
The main foyer will be packed full of areas for everyone to plant the seeds of a great story, with workshops and activities to help inspire the novelist within. Plant a story in a giant watering can and see ideas bloom into songs and performances throughout the building. Cartoon de Salvo will be transforming stories into beautiful performances for the main house.

Messy Play
A whole day of non-stop Messy Play for children who want to get messy with glitter and glue. They can fill the building with flowers or bring the giant gardener to life.

Story Corner
For little ones and big kids too, take part or just sit back and enjoy a classic tale or a story created that day.

Bloomin’ Marvellous Garden
Take advantage of our beautiful new green oasis, the Hammersmith London Roof Garden. On the back terrace there will be the opportunity to paint a pot and plant a seed to take home.

A rolling programme of music, circus and street theatre will also take place outdoors in Lyric Square, with appearances from travelling local radio road show Bramble FM and the world famous Hammersmith Morris Men, as well as the chance to tinkle the ivories of a street piano.

All events are free, though performances by Cartoon de Salvo in the Main House will require a ticket and these will be available from the box office on the day.
