50 years on from its release as a concept album, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will have us all dreaming again at the London Palladium in summer 2021.

Half a century on, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has firmly cemented its place as one of the world’s most beloved family musicals. The multi-award-winning show began life as a small scale school concert, but has since been performed in over 80 countries as far afield as Zimbabwe and Peru. Now, the show is to be re-imagined in a spectacular new production and creative team, produced by Michael Harrison and The Really Useful Group.

Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat tells the story of Jacob’s favourite son, Joseph, and his eleven brothers. Sold into slavery out of the jealousy of his kin, Joseph finds himself in Egypt, where his reputation burgeons under Potiphar. But when he rejects the advances of Potiphar’s wife, Joseph is thrown into jail, where he discovers a unique ability to interpret dreams. Can he use this to resolve Egypt’s family and reunite with his family once more?

The role of Joseph has been played by a raft of musical stars throughout the years, including Jason Donovan, Philip Schofield, Lee Mead, Joe McElderry and Donny Osmond. The show has been performed hundreds of thousands of times across the country and internationally, with multiple runs in the West End and on Broadway. This production is back by popular demand following a sell-out run last summer and will star Jason Donovan, Jac Yarrow and Alexandra Burke with Linzi Hateley also returning as the Narrator for special performances.

The production will be directed by Laurence Connor, who brought the Olivier and Tony Award-nominated School Of Rock The Musical to the stage. He has also directed the likes of Miss Saigon and Chess in the West End.

With a score including renowned pop and musical theatre songs Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door To Me, Jacob And Sons, There’s One More Angel In Heaven, and Go Go Go Joseph, this is a definitive musical for the ages.
