Frozen, a psychological thriller starring Doctor Foster’s Suranne Jones, follows the life of a mother whose child goes missing.

Suranne Jones, who many will know from her appearance playing the titular role in the BBC Drama Doctor Foster, leads the production playing Nancy; the mother of a missing child.  Jason Watkins (Line of Duty, Taboo, W1A), playing the foreboding Ralph, and Nina Sosanya (W1A, Last Tango In Halifax), who plays psychiatrist Agnetha, join Suranne in Bryony Lavery’s award-winning play.

In present-day England, one sunny evening, a young girl walks to visit her Grandma – but she never arrives…

A play about retribution, remorse and redemption, Frozen explores the interwoven lives of three strangers as they try to make sense of the unimaginable, find catharsis, and come to terms with the idea of forgiveness.

Not to be mistaken with the upcoming Disney Broadway musical of the same name, the play Frozen, written by Bryony Lavery, was originally performed at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre in 1998. It subsequently went on to become a smash-hit play at the National Theatre, and has been revived several times since. It received its Off-Broadway premiere in February 2004, transferring to Broadway in August of the same year, where it received three Tony Award nominations (including for Best Play) and one win (Brian F. O’Byrne claimed the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play).

Directed by Jonathan Munby, who recently directed Sir Ian McKellen in the Chichester Festival Theatre production of King Lear, this London theatre production of Frozen will play a strictly limited twelve-week run at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.
