The West End premiere of Dawn King’s dystopian thriller Foxfinder stars the Olivier Award-winning Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones, Misfits).

In Dawn’s unsettling and darkly comic drama, England is in crisis. Due to flooding, food production is slow and fear of the red beast grips the land. Farm owners, Judith and Samuel Covey, have failed to meet their harvest target and the government wants to know why. Foxfinder William Bloor (Rheon) visits the farm to investigate a possible fox infestation. Trained from childhood, he’s fixated on unearthing the foxes that must the reason for the failed crops. But as the investigation goes on, William finds more questions than answers…

Poldark actress Heida Reed will also star in the production, along with Olivier Award nominee Bryony Hannah (Call The Midwife) and Paul Nicholls (Law & Order, The C-Word, EastEnders).

Foxfinder was first performed at London’s Finborough Theatre in 2011. It opened to rave reviews and from it, Dawn won many awards. Among her accolades were the 2013 Royal National Theatre Foundation Playwright award and the Off West End award for Most Promising Playwright.

Foxfinder will be directed by Rachel O’Riordan. Rachel’s Killology at the Royal Court won the 2018 Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Affiliate Theatre. She is the artistic director of the Sherman Theatre, Cardiff and was previously artistic director of Perth Theatre and founding artistic director of Ransom Productions, Belfast.

Iwan won an Olivier Award in 2010 for his performance in Spring Awakening. He is most famed appearing in the BAFTA award-winning superhero drama Misfits and Ramsay Bolton in Game Of Thrones.

This production is designed by Gary McCann with lighting by Paul Anderson. Simon Slater is composer and sound designer for the production.
