West End celebrates #LoveTheatreDay 2016

First Published 16 November 2016, Last Updated 24 November 2016

Happy #LoveTheatreDay! On this day, Wednesday 16 November 2016, arts fans, creators, institutions and companies come together in celebration of all things theatrical, from amateur dramatics to London shows, and touring productions to global smash-hit spectacles.

Dedicated in particular to those people who make theatre happen, be on-stage performers, producers, directors, designers, audiences, costumiers, writers, and all parties directly involved in the wonderful culture we all cherish, #LoveTheatreDay offers the whole art form a chance to shout about the love and joy it brings to so many people.

To celebrate, cast members from across the West End, including Disney’s Aladdin, Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, Half A Sixpence, Jersey Boys, Kinky Boots, Disney’s The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Matilda The Musical, Les Misérables, Motown The Musical, The Phantom Of The Opera and Stomp, gave us a glimpse into what they get up to during their respective show intervals:

And paying due homage to the unsung heroes of theatre, they also told us about what they would do backstage if they weren’t performing on the West End:
