Sunday fun at the Lyric Hammersmith

First Published 8 September 2009, Last Updated 8 September 2009

Sundays will never be the same again at the Lyric Hammersmith, which is introducing new Family Sunday activity days for children and parents from 4 October.

Held directly after the Sunday performances of The Night Keeper, Family Sunday allows children to participate in one of two special workshops – either the ever popular Messy Play or the brand new Party Play – while their parents can choose to join in the fun or take it easy in the Lyric Hammersmith’s Café Brera.

Messy Play, which has become something of a tradition at the Lyric Hammersmith in recent years, allows children to get creative with paint, glitter, stickers and glue. The new Party Play workshop recreates every child’s fantasy birthday party with fancy dress, party games and balloons. Each workshop costs £3 per ticket.

Family Sunday will be held on selected Sundays throughout the autumn, with a special festive-themed edition on 20 December.

Messy Play sessions are also held after Saturday children’s shows including Room On The Broom (19 Sep), The Princess And The Pea (10 Oct) and Old Mother Hubbard (21 Nov).

Family Sunday joins the Lyric Hammersmith’s comprehensive line-up of family shows and activities, which this autumn includes half-term production The Forest (24 Oct-1 Nov) and festive offerings Jack And The Beanstalk (21 Nov-9 Jan) and Christmas Baking Time (27 Nov-3 Jan).
