Search for talented 10 year olds

First Published 17 April 2008, Last Updated 18 April 2008

To celebrate its tenth birthday, Kids Week is holding a special talent contest for talented 10 year olds. The competition, which is being held in association with Young Performer Magazine, will offer 50 budding performers the chance to take part in an audition workshop in London on Thursday 16 August.

If you are not 10, there is no need to panic – there are another 50 wild card places available, which will be offered to kids aged 5-16.

The contest is part of Kids Week Covent Garden, the official launch of the 10th anniversary of Kids Week on 16 and 17 August. The casts of some of the biggest musicals in the West End, including The Sound Of Music, Fame, Chicago, Wicked and Mary Poppins, will be performing in Covent Garden piazza, and there will be live Kids Week workshops on stage. In addition to this there will be a Drama Pavilion run by the Old Vic, a Singing and Dancing Pavilion run by West End professionals, make up demonstrations and theatre themed art activities in the Costume and Design Pavilion and even a special wibbly wobbly waiting room for babies and toddlers in the Oily Cart-run under-fives Pavilion. All of this will be totally free.

If you want to take part in the audition workshops then you must download an entry form from the link below and post the completed form back to the address provided. Places are strictly limited and must be booked in advance.
