Kids Week Choir returns for half-term

First Published 7 October 2013, Last Updated 7 October 2013

After the huge success of the first ever Kids Week Choir event this summer, which launched our annual kids go free ticketing campaign with a roof-raising performance, the choir is back for October half-term and needs your help!

To complete our crew of enthusiastic singers, Kids Week is this time offering the whole family the chance to learn and perform a medley of popular West End songs for free at the iconic Prince of Wales theatre on 29 October from 14:30 to 16:30.

Children aged eight and older, alongside their parents and guardians, are invited to join with no experience necessary as the choir will be led by the brilliant musical theatre company Starling Arts, the company who coached 100 youngsters at the inaugural Kids Week Choir event at Shakespeare’s Globe, with the results available to watch in the video above.

The event is one of hundreds to take place in venues and theatres across London as part of the inaugural Family Arts Festival, a new initiative designed  to enable families the chance to experience the wealth of entertainment on offer across the country, with activities, shows, workshops and events taking place in sectors across the arts from classical concerts to art exhibitions and children’s theatre.

If you would like to be a part of the Kids Week Choir, free places must be booked by emailing kidsweek@solttma.co.uk with the subject line “Kids Week West End Family Choir”. Please state your name, contact telephone number and numbers of places (maximum six per household) required.

Visit the Family Arts Festival website for full details of this event and to search for more taking place near you.
