The first footage has been released from the (rehearsal) Room Where It Happens for the forthcoming transfer of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s blockbuster musical Hamilton.

Sent out via Hamilton’s social media accounts, it’s an eagerly anticipated first look at the performers of the epic show in action. Check it out below.

Hamilton begins previews at the newly renovated Victoria Palace Theatre on Wednesday 6 December, opening on Thursday 21 December.

Following the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, a West Indies immigrant who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War, the show follows his epic journey. Starting as a child born out of wedlock, his marriage to a wealthy heiress, Hamilton goes on to become America’s first Treasury Secretary, ultimately leaving a vast legacy in forging the country’s financial system.

Having only recently graduated from RADA in 2016, Jamael Westman will step into the shoes of the show’s popular creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda, to play the eponymous role. Stage and screen star Michael Jibson has been cast opposite him as King George.
