Fun For Kids at Soho

First Published 17 April 2008, Last Updated 18 April 2008

Kids programming features in the autumn/winter season at the Soho theatre, with morning shows, a half-term treat and comedy for Christmas all in the line-up under the banner Fun For Kids.

From New York, Rachel Trachtenburg, the 13-year-old daughter from the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players (at Soho from 30 August-15 September) stars in her own morning show for kids on 1, 8 & 15 September at 11:00. Suitable for children aged six and over, the show is billed as a hilarious info-tainment designed to enlighten and entertain.

During the autumn half-term (22-26 October), the Soho welcomes Big Howard and Little Howard (as seen on CBBC and ITV) with their new epic family show Little Howard And The Magic Pencil Of Life And Death. In it, Little Howard finally meets his maker – The Pencil Of Creation. But with great power comes great responsibility and on the other end, The Rubber Of Doom! The show is suitable for children aged six and over.

In December, Fun For Kids presents Men Of Steel, a high-energy show from Australia. An award-winner at the Melbourne Comedy Festival 2006, Men Of Steel is a kitchen-set puppet show in which three madcap chefs employ everything from frying pans to popcorn to animate a world in which mischievous, person-shaped cookie cutters create adventures, mayhem and mess. An example of the burgeoning puppetry scene in Melbourne, the show has a cheeky sense of humour aimed at kids (aged six plus) and adults alike. Men Of Steel runs from 6 December-6 January.
