EducationLive returns for 2011

Published 9 February 2011

The Society of London Theatre and Mousetrap Theatre Projects are offering teachers the chance to find out about the educational opportunities London theatre provides at EducationLive, a fun and informal event which takes place on 5 April.

Held at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, right in the middle of London’s Theatreland, teachers will be given the opportunity to meet theatre industry professionals and to take part in two half-hour theatrical taster sessions run by West End professionals. At the end of the evening, every attendee will leave with a free ticket to see a London show that night.

Teachers will gain information on theatre productions on offer over the coming year, as well as the educational programmes, workshops, teachers’ resource materials, special events and school group rates available to support schools’ theatre trips.

Speaking about last year’s event, one attendee said: “It was so good to talk to professionals involved in providing theatre resources and experiences for young people. I loved the relaxed atmosphere and the feeling of positive action for our youngsters.”

EducationLive takes place from 17:00 to 18:45 and tickets costs £15. To find out more about the event and how to book visit www.learnaboutlondontheatre.co.uk/education-live. Learn About London Theatre also offers a wealth of knowledge about educational resources which are available across London theatres all year round.
