The West End and Broadway came face-to-face last night when Broadway star Alex Sharp paid the London version of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time a visit.
Sharp, who plays the leading character in the Broadway version, met and posed for pictures with the London cast and with Joseph Ayre and Thomas Daniel, the two actors who share the same role in the West End version. Sharp won the 2015 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play for his portrayal as Christopher Boone.
The National Theatre’s The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time is a Tony Award and Olivier Award-winning play that won a record breaking seven Olivier Awards in 2013, including one for Best New Play.
It tells the story of a young boy named Christopher who discovers that his neighbour’s dog, Wellington, has been speared with a garden fork, seven minutes after midnight – and Christopher is under suspicion. Recording each fact in a book, he aims to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington in an adventure outside of his comfort zone on a frightening journey that turns his world upside down.
Simon Stephens’ adaptation of Mark Haddon’s best-selling novel plays at the Gielgud Theatre and is booking until 18 February 2017. You can buy your tickets through us here.
