Hello, Dolly! centres on New York’s glamorous match-maker Dolly Levi, who is back on the scene and out to make the most significant pairing of her career.

Hello, Dolly! was first produced on Broadway in 1964, with Carol Channing in the title role. The musical went on to win 10 Tony Awards and became one of the most successful musicals of the 1960s. It also spawned a musical version in 1969 starring Barbra Streisand.

Jerry Herman’s score features the famous songs Put On Your Sunday Clothes, Before The Parade Passes and the title number.

This new production of Hello, Dolly! is directed by Open Air theatre Artistic Director Timothy Sheader, who directed the venue’s 2008 musical offering, Gigi. Choreography is by Laurence Olivier Award-winner Stephen Mear, who co-choreographed the hit production of Mary Poppins in the West End.
