In rehearsal: Belleville

How about this for a Christmas show cast? James Norton, Imogen Poots, Malachi Kirby and Faith Alabi are all set to star in the Donmar Warehouse‘s seasonal drama Belleville.

The quartet will portray citizens living the perfect expat life in Paris, replete with bohemian apartment, stable marriage, and happy and loving lifestyle. But the foundations of their life are shaken by what Abby finds at home one afternoon – and, as it turns out, it’s all a little too perfect.

Belleville marks the UK premiere of writer Amy Herzog’s play about a romantic dream gone sour, and is directed by Michael Longhurst (Amadeus, National Theatre; Constellations, West End and Broadway) in his Donmar directing debut.

And with the likes of Norton (Bug, Found 111; War & Peace; Flatliners) and Poots (Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Harold Pinter Theatre) behind it, along with the brilliant Alabi (The Rolling Stone, Orange Tree Theatre) and Kirby (Rough Cuts, Royal Court), this looks like a perfect way to spend one of your twelve days this festive period.

Belleville plays at the Donmar Warehouse from Thursday 7 December.

You can book your tickets through the Donmar Warehouse website.
